At the last minute I decided to take up the invite to a friend of a friends gallery opening over the weekend. I hadn't originally planned on attending because I knew it was going to be a long weekend for me and didn't know if I would have energy for it. But somehow I rallied and thoroughly enjoyed the event (so mad I left my digicam at home though!!!)
Ordinarily I would wear some a short party dress but I had bought this long comfy Alexander Wang K/O t-shirt dress and was jumping at an opportunity to wear it. The weather was utterly gorgeous over the weekend and the nights were cool but balmy so I didn't need a jacket. I had an idea to top this white sequined 80's style top over it and loved the silhouette. I don't know if it photographed all that hot but I swear it looked better in person.
I love how the back of the sequin overtop draped over the dress. I am planning on wearing it this way over something short, black and tight.
I wanted a long floaty black skirt (please see sidebar) but instead stumbled across this maxi dress on a shopping trip with my sister. I rarely venture upstairs in H&M to the divided section and now I wonder why I never do! I saw a rack full of these and instantly gravitated towards them. The tank dress is sheer and I don't know how anyone shorter then me is wearing this, because even in my comfy "I know I'm going to be on my feet" heels the dress dragged. Best of all... it was $12.95. It totally filled the maxi skirt void for me and I can see it getting a lot of wear this upcoming summer.
