So I learned last week that cropped pants is very much a personal thing. Everyone has a different idea on what cropped pants are, loose fit or classic cigarette “Audrey” Hepburn fit, length to the ankles…or length to wherever you feel is appropriate. I’ve also seen more than a few comments over the years that more or less imply that it should be left to only the tall and slender.
I personally love cropped pants in just about any shape or form and while I’m tall… I’m not super skinny. I love classic slim fitting ones to the baggy incarnations that a few in the fashion forward set adopted. Since I am tall it’s very rare that I find cropped pants that hit my ankle- I have maybe one pair that does that will eventually make its appearance since I wear them all the time. These particular pair I am wearing though are incredible comfortable and while easy to slip into… I did find the proportions a bit challenging.
My goal when wearing these was simple, try out a different silhouette…and not look like an idiot. Or a genie. Or its 1993 and it's Hammertime.
I love the silver beaded adornment on this cashmere blend sweater. To me it looks very 1920s art deco. I think it echoes my vintage Dave and Whiting bracelet perfectly. The pants are sooo comfortable. They are a thin slouchy silk and I can wear them through the many seasons we [don't] have here. Best of all...they were on sale and I could easily justify trying out this trend.
slouchy, comfy... perfect.
